"Highly scented" -  just how much fragrance do we put in our products?! This is not a straight forward answer! We add different amount of fragrance oil to different types of products and also for different scents. 

As a general rule we load wax with 10% fragrance oil. This means for every 100g of wax product only 90g is wax and the other 10g is high quality fragrance oil. But this is not the case for all scents. Some fragrance oil is mega strong so we add less to make sure it is not too over powering. You want to smell it, not taste it! 

We add more to our diffusers at a rate of 25% but again, not for all fragrances. Not only are some oils over powering, but by IFRA standards some fragrances are not allowed above a certain percentage and so some are as low as 14% fragrance to diffuser oil.

With candles, burning the fragrance can have an impact. Some candles thrive with 10% fragrance oil, but many are best using 7-8% fragrance. This ensures a quality burn. Some fragrances also do not work when they are strong. It depends on the notes within the fragrance. We like to test with different wicks to get them to burn just right. We even use a different variety of wax blends to change the burn characteristic of the candle. We spend a lot of time testing!
